How To Detail Your Automobile

By Brandon B

I think this is something that everybody needs to know how to do. I'm not trying to bad mouth the automotive detailing business but with the prices that they charge your better off if you learn to do it yourself also with the price on fuel going up, and with interest rates many people or opting to keep their automobiles longer.

Keeping your car longer means in order to insure a long life (and high value) you must upkeep it not only mechanically but also cosmetically. Do you know that not keeping a good coat of wax on your car will lead to premature paint fading and once that starts you leave your car open to unwanted rusting. Also not keeping your tires maintained can cause them to crack which over time could cause a blowout. With just a little work you can help preserve your cars life and keep it looking nice so you won't be ashamed to drive it for many years to come.

When it comes down to just your basic wash job it is important to remember these facts:

- Always start from the top of your car and work your way down.

- Apply tire cleaner when the tires are still dry and scrub with a wet brush.

- Do Not! Forget to wipe down your door jambs.

- Use a razor blade to get bugs off your windshield.

- Clean your floor mats first so they have time to dry.

Just these facts can help save you time and help you get the job down more efficiently.

When it comes time to either going online or to your automotive store to purchase supplies you don't want to be overwhelmed by all the different types of products. Here's a list of supplies that's always good to have around:

- Car Soap

- Tire Cleaner

- Wash mitt

- Tire brush

- Chamois

- Polish

- Wax

- Window cleaner

- Protectant

- Vacuum

If you make sure to keep those supply's on hand then you got the right formula to well detailed car!
